PILATES
A conditioning exercise program designed in the early 1920s by the late Joseph Pilates. The National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine classifies Pilates as a body work based therapy (2001), but many think of Pilates as an "art form" because every move is synchronized with breathing and utilizes specific biomechanical principles to ensure a safe and effective workout. The focus of Pilates is to strengthen our core muscles.
Often we make unsafe choices of muscle recruitment while performing our activities of daily living and end up treating and training our bodies badly, risking misalignment and injury. Integrated Mind & Body will help you develop body and posture awareness and create a balanced workout, as you tap into the strength you always wanted but never knew you had.
Integrated Mind-Body offers full service Pilates training, including the Cadillac and Trapeze, Chair, Reformer, Ladder Barrel and the smaller equipment that provides a variety of modifications depending on each client's level and needs. In a private studio away from the hustle and bustle of a busy gym, this truly is personal training at its best. All sessions are private, by appointment only and take place in a relaxing, homey studio. Workouts are based on each client's needs and lifestyle, allowing for 30, 60, or 75 minute sessions.
